Soft Opening

We had the "soft opening" of the restaurant out at the airport last night. Not seriously, but we had fun with what we were doing. The electrician was there getting the projector screens and lights fine tuned, and the painter was there finishing some murals. So we bought a bunch of junk food like chips, dip, crackers and cheese, and deli meat, and I put on the movie "Stepbrothers" while we doodled around the restaurant.
Nice spread, huh?

Since it's going to be a BBQ joint, the decor is themed like a hunting lodge. There's elk trophies hanging on the walls, big comfy furniture, and the murals are painted old-timey, like they're antique pictures.
I'm enjoying the furniture:

And to make the place inviting to the local civic groups who do regular meetings and presentations, Mike had a ton of t.v.'s installed and a HUGE projector screen so a DVD can be played or a laptop can be installed to show powerpoint presentations, pictures, etc.
This is Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly having a moment on the screen, during the Catalina Wine Mixer:

And since the restaurant is at the airport, there's a plane hanging from the ceiling:

As a part of the promotion, there's a fire truck parked outside that has a smoker and grill installed on the backside. So we took it for a spin around the airport.

That's Mike, behind the wheel of the fire truck, parked in front of the competition, Havasu Air Center.
We had the lights going on the truck, and I sat second seat with the button to the horn. Honked it the whole time.

Steve sat in the back with some of the guys:

I took a picture of my car in front of a plane that was parked in front of the restaurant, to make it look like a P.Diddy photo or something. You know, my G5 parked in front of my G4, something like that....
